Syed A. Ahmad Motaz Qadan, MD, PhD Could be one possible explanation. Another one could be increased immune response leading to lymph nodes that easier to identify. There’s some evidence for that hypothesis in colorectal cancer.
After 14 years of training, it is surreal to finish my last day as a Society of Surgical Oncology fellow. Words can’t describe how grateful I am to my family and faculty Brigham and Women’s Department of Surgery, Mass General Surgery, and Dana-Farber for their ♾️ support. I will make you proud as I set up roots Loma Linda U. Health
What a big loss for UC College of Medicine UC General Surgery , but so proud and happy for Shimul A. Shah to get this opportunity. Mass General Surgery you are getting an impact maker.
Motaz Qadan, MD, PhD Syed A. Ahmad Completely agree. For example, look at the metrics at most institutions for “academic productivity incentive“. It is strictly based on quantity, rather than quality, at most institutions. To some degree, same for academic promotion (hopefully quality factored more here though)
Syed A. Ahmad Motaz Qadan, MD, PhD Of course, no one is comparing or making such a false equivalence. The comment is in regards to “it happens at multiple career levels“. There is a rat race for pushing out as many publications as possible at all levels. It’s a problem at all levels.
