My daughter has developed a horrified fascination with The Tale of Samuel Whiskers. Reading it back 702 times I notice: a) the narrative structure is very satisfying; b) the cat family had recently eaten ALL SEVEN of the rat babies so abducting one kitten does seem fair actually.
