My Summer 2024 top read! As the new school year starts,educational inequality is as prevalent as ever and Katriona O'Sullivan has inspired me to rethink the experience of the students in our care and perhaps vocalize the reality of Deis schooling specifically to built equity for all.

Have just finished this book by Katriona O'Sullivan. It was an incredible story and I couldn’t put it down so finished it in less than two days. I’d say it’s a definite ‘must read’ for school leaders to help understand what it can be like for a child growing up poor.

For anyone feeling bad about GCSEs or Leaving Cert? I failed my GCSEs, got pregnant at 15, left school & was homeless. I cleaned toilets for years. I'm a doctor now, I'm a university lecturer & im happy! Your results in school don't measure your full potential. Don't give up!
