Babies spitting up are a fact of life. Toddlers throwing tantrums are a fact of life. Teenagers learning to drive are a fact of life. School shootings are not and will never be a "fact of life." Unless we continue to allow them to be. x.com/AP/status/1831…

Pediatrician Dr. Kim Schrier introduced the Safeguarding Infants from Dangerous Sleep Act — this would ban weighted infant blankets & swaddles that are proven to increase infant sleep deaths. I haven’t seen anyone talking about this but I think it is AWESOME! 👏

So Tim Walz believe kids should be fed at school so they can learn better and JD Vance believes kids should accept being shot at school as a "fact of life." Vote accordingly.

I've had patients ask about asthma meds being given at school. And Epipens at school. And seizure meds at school. And speech therapy and physical therapy at school. I've never had anyone ask about gender changing surgery at school. Go figure...

The Kentucky shooter bought an AR15 and 2000 rounds of ammunition this morning. Why in the world would any average citizen need an AR15 with 2000 rounds of ammunition? Explain it to me like I'm 5 years old.

South Carolina hasn't even chosen to feed hungry kids during the summer. If you do surgery on a child you need to feed them something when they wake up. So it's pretty safe to say that SC schools are not performing surgery on SC kids.

I'm not a financial wizard but the increase in cost ends up being passed on to the consumer at the point of sale here in the US. This is not rocket science.

I saw a bunch of kids in the office today. Kids with Medicaid. Kids who lost their Medicaid. Well kids. Kids with special health care needs. Kids with depression. Kids with ADHD. And I realized just how important this election is for all of these kids. Please #VoteKids.

4 year well check. In my Harry Potter exam room. Witch's broom hanging on the wall. I walk in the room. 4 year old looks at the broom, looks at me and asks, "That your broom?" Peds is the best.

I'm a pediatrician. Here's a fact check. Abortion of 9 mo healthy term babies is simply not a thing. In any state anywhere. #PresidentialDebate2024

"Transgender operations on illegal aliens in prison." Well, I can tell you that the South Carolina legislature would sure have a field day with that one.

Thinking that the GOP excuse for Trump's humiliating debate performance will be the moderators. And they certainly did call him out. But if he didn't lie so much, there would have been nothing to call out.

I am a pediatrician. I have always cast my vote for the person who will be the best president for our children and who will create a safe and healthy world for them to grow up in. I will proudly cast my vote for VP Kamala Harris.

"Access to health care should be a right, and not just a privilege for those who can afford it." Music to my pediatrician ears. Thank you, VP Harris.

Just to clarify- In the first surge of the pandemic, we couldn't get masks to protect ourselves and our staff. We wore the same mask for weeks until the straps broke. While we saw sick kids with Covid. Donald Trump did not help us to find masks.

Well, I should probably go to sleep now because I have "concepts of a plan" for what I need to do for my patients at work tomorrow.

Wharton professor here! Here are the Penn Wharton Budget Model estimates: — Harris’ proposal increases the deficit by $1.2 trillion, with low- and middle income households benefiting disproportionately. — Trump’s proposal increases the deficit by $5.8 trillion. Details below 👇

With all due respect, Gov. Henry McMaster, moving public school dollars to the private schools "may have devastating consequences for thousands of low income families who relied on" our public schools. The SC Supreme Court made the right decision.
