If you just joined us… Now racing into Space, the UK Space Command Tyche R&D satellite. Expertly manufactured by the team at Surrey Satellites. The size of a washing machine, weighing 150kg, it has an electro-optical sensor for daytime imaging of the Earth.
And Tyche is away! The team at Surrey Satellites will now operate the satellite and make sure it's working. Tyche is the first satellite in space as part of Programme ISTARI, which will deliver a family of satellites for intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance.
Mission success! Through UK Space Command, we are developing valuable capabilities within the defence space portfolio. The lessons learned from Tyche will make the UK a valued partner worldwide for space-based intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance. x.com/defencehq/stat…
