Did anyone else get blocked by Elon Musk for not adding their DOB even though I’ve been on Twitter so long that I’d have had to have joined in the womb if I were child? I finally relented and treated it with the contempt it deserves!

Fabulous resource from Suffolk Archives on Bury St Edmunds appeal tribunal records showing how men could appeal vs conscription in First World War. 72% granted some kind of exemption (often just a deferral). Only 1% appealed on grounds of conscience. suffolkarchives.shorthandstories.com/wwi-tribunals/…

Amazed at how easy it is to do research The National Archives these days- I take pics on iphone & airdrop to laptop (both of which connect to free WiFi); don’t bother with chargers as both stay charged all day; swipe my card to see what’s on order… seamless & really ups productivity!

It's often impossible to find direct accounts of poor people in the historical record. But an extraordinary collection containing thousands of letters written by people in poverty between 1834 and 1900 provides an insight into their lives. Listen to the podcast here:🎙️👇

🥇 Congratulations to all Olympians! With the 2024 Games wrapping up today, not sure if there are any plans to make a single montage of all the winners… This remarkable image of all those who took gold was produced after the 1908 London Olympics. Catalogue no: COPY 1/527/202
