Latest reseed with Waterford monitor farmer steven fitzgerald It was a paddock that did grow grass but graze out was always poor and cow’s didn’t like it. Stevens SR is 2.66 & since July growth rates have been 20kgs/DM/ha higher than demand so took chance to get reseed done 👍

#DYK wildlife corridors can help enhance biodiversity and improve water quality 💧 💡The farmers here today are encouraging connectivity and work between their neighbours to achieve this.

Soil biodiversity often gets forgotten and we now need to understand how we can work better for our soils. #DYK Earthworms (and other large creatures!), bacteria, and fungi are extremely important for healthy soils.

#nationalhedgerowweek done pictures from the event in Teagasc Curtin’s farm as part of Hedgerow week. Planting hedges - adding biodiversity - capturing carbon - placed in the right place can act as sediment traps - good for water quality
