Energizing meeting of CARE International new Executive Committee to set global priorities & areas of collaboration. Important work ahead with leaders from Morocco to Denmark to take us to new levels of impact. Huge TY to CARE (care.org) Netherlands for hosting.
A highlight of my week in Atlanta was meeting with our fabulous and high energy CARE (care.org) interns! So grateful for their gifts to CARE and excited to learn about their change-making aspirations.
So glad to join CARE (care.org) colleagues for a viewing and discussion of of Ava DuVernay's film "Origin" – highly commend everyone to go back and watch this movie and bring along a friend to discuss it afterwards. Incredibly important and powerful.
So moved by my colleague Deepmala Mahla's visit to #Gaza where she is standing in solidarity with our team and partners and powerfully bearing witness to the enormous suffering.
#WorldHumanitarianDay: 2024 is already the second deadliest year for humanitarians. CARE (care.org) is demanding an end to attacks on aid workers, an end to impunity for perpetrators, and increased support to local and national organizations. ow.ly/i6aK50T142s
During Depeche Mode’s 2023-2024 Memento Mori World Tour, which wrapped up earlier this year, CARE (care.org) partnered with the band to raise critical funds to provide urgent humanitarian relief to individuals and families coping with war, natural disasters and other crises. Michelle Nunn
So great to be with inspiring friends, change agents, and Dandelions hafsat abiola-costello and Pat Mitchell in Atlanta. Loved conspiring together for women-led #climate action. Project Dandelion
Horrified that a disease eradicated 25 yrs ago threatens children already facing so much death & destruction in #Gaza. Grateful for CARE (care.org) colleagues working w/ WHO, UNICEF, others to administer thousands of polio vaccines in just days. #CeasefireNow care.org/news-and-stori…
Women tell CARE (care.org) their biggest challenges today relate to climate change & hunger. Women hold the solutions to tackling both. All those planning crisis responses must hear and heed women’s voices. #InvestInWomen #ScaleWhatWorks Read my World Economic Forum op-ed: ow.ly/CLns50TfmCi
