NEW ISSUE KLAXON! SB 42.2, a special issue on "Archives and Performing Memory" edited by Sally Barnden is out now on Project MUSE! Feat essays by Erin J Anouska Lester Abbie Weinberg Molly S Dr. Janelle Jenstad Stephanie Shirilan and a wide range of reviews. muse.jhu.edu/issue/53122
Going to do my best Dr. Peter Kirwan impression and introduce the articles briefly - but stay tuned for more detail in #ExtraCredit from Shakespeare Bulletin curated by the authors muse.jhu.edu/issue/53122
Next is Anouska Lester on magic mirrors in the early modern performance archive, demonstrating the significance of mirror props in three early modern plays and flipping the 'performance as mirror' metaphor on its head
in her chapter, Dr. Janelle Jenstad revisits Jeanette Lambermont's 2001 production of 'Henry V' - a production that both queried the bias of wartime archives and became, by an accident of timing, a conductor for anxieties about contemporary warfare
And finally, Stephanie Shirilan explores the archival potential of air, finding that both matter and emotion linger and get 'stuck' in the atmosphere in Shakespeare's plays and asking how scholarship about performance archiving can take air into account
