Twitterverse, anyone know of clear examples of homozygous variants not causing disease, but when that same variant is in trans with a lot it does cause disease. We know there are examples of this, but struggling to find them in literature #genomics #raredisease

A ๐Ÿงต about women applying for things. Weโ€™ve run a postdoc seminar series for the past few years. Our selection is entirely anonymized. We read only the research statements. No CVโ€™s, no names, no lab references. But when all was revealed this year, 8/10 finalists were male.

Dear younger colleagues: please, don't ever accept to write articles for "special issues". There's nothing "special" about such issues. Nobody reads them and they do nothing good for your career. They are scams that deprive you of your time and your research money.
