I had a meeting with Dr. Katja Kerschbaumer, the Head of Development Cooperation at the Austrian Embassy and Chair of the Justice Sector Development Partners Group, Uganda Police Force Headquarters in Naguru, Kampala.
During our courtesy call upon IGP Abas Byakagaba ABAS BYAKAGABA we had cordial and frank discussions on access to justice, data collection in Uganda Police Force incldg. the 48-hour rule, law enforcement, constitutional rights and public order. ADC in Uganda 🇦🇹🇺🇬
As the Chair of the Justice Dev’t Partners’ Group, we met with the Commissioner General of Prisons Dr. Byabashaija Johnson Byabashaija to discuss issues in the criminal justice system incldg. congestion in prisons, the need for daily criminal hearings & welfare of prisoners. Uganda Prisons Service

#MWEworks: MINISTRY OF WATER AND ENVIRONMENT 🇺🇬 with support from Bundesentwicklungsministerium and AustrianDev upgraded 15 Water Supply and Sanitation Facilities for Refugee Settlements and Host Communities under the Water & Sanitation for Refugees & Hosts project in the Districts of Yumbe, Madi Okollo and Terego in West Nile.
GIZ Uganda successfully completed day two of the official handover of 15 rehabilitated water supply schemes to Umbrellas of Water and Sanitation💧 in West Nile. This effort, co-funded by ADC in Uganda 🇦🇹🇺🇬, reinforces our commitment to delivering reliable water services to refugees and host communities.
