It was fantastic to share the wise words of Christine Counsell, Jon Hutchinson and Josh Vallance at #SBPGeelong I loved hearing about how more schools are embarking on their journeys towards implementing a knowledge-rich curriculum.

Our new season: cross-genre collaborations, world premieres and Cathedrals of the East. We move through genres from bluegrass, jazz and electronics to folk and classical. Programmes rethink the concert experience, with immersive surround-sound concerts in the east’s Cathedrals.

What is progression in a well-planned, knowledge-rich KS2 history curriculum? Why is the ancient world enthralling, illuminating and enabling for children? Londoners doing #Openingworlds, you've still time to book with Haringey Education Partnership for Tuesday pm: hepbookinghub.co.uk/calendars/

Okay, so this is my first effort at a 'hook' using story. I wrote it to see if I can try and emulate the great work being done by Christine Counsell and Steve Mastin, whose talks on stories I was greatly pleased to attend last weekend. Let's see how it goes! #historyteacher

A new blog from me on the teaching of writing and, in particular, whether a focus on practising forms should come first, or a focus on meanings and writers' intentions. My discussion looks especially at the teaching of the sentence. englishandmedia.co.uk/blog/teaching-…

We tried to say farewell to Helen Snelson today. I’m not sure I managed to. It was glorious York day and a beautiful service. There is a space in the world which was so full of of joy, wisdom, laughter, love and energy which now isn’t. We’ll keep buggering on, Helen.

Hugely impressed by this new enterprise - new choral music by living composers, with scrolling videos to hear / see the pieces, instant downloads / licences, and written with performers in mind. Worth exploring, I’d say… ⬇️
