CUBRIC .CUBRIC clinical research nurse and trials manager Andy Davison showed attendees the 0T, a mock scanner used to familiarise research participants with the experience of being in a scanner, including examples of the sounds you'll hear.

CUBRIC Professor Neil Harrison talked us through the 3T and 7T MRI scanners. 7T produces much higher-res images of the brain than a 3T scanner. The 7T magnet weighs 40 tonnes. MRI uses magnetic fields and radiofrequency pulses to measure weak signals from water molecules in the body.
