The Agriculture sector is Ireland’s largest single source of greenhouse gas emissions, accounting for 34.3% of total emissions in 2023. This represents a fall of 4.6% on the previous year. Read more about Council’s recommendations: shorturl.at/nxDyc

In June 2023, the Atlantic Ocean west of Ireland and around the UK was impacted by a marine heatwave that was classified as ‘extreme’ and in some areas ‘beyond extreme’. Sea surface temperatures in some areas rose to 5 degrees Celsius above average. shorturl.at/5aVko
