The Green Party is the Green Party. We are not the SDLGP. As leader I will work with any political party that is prepared to facilitate real environmental action.

On the Shannon in Limerick City as the Mayor of Limerick throws a dart into the Shannon to assert his authority over the river estuary. I will be working with the Mayor over the next five years to improve the biodiversity of the river.

Pippa provides the best opportunity at this juncture to challenge the jaded narrative about who the Green Party Ireland are. Such a switch up affords the party with their best chance to cast a wide net that is held together by Green knots .

A lot of great work again today by the team working on the mayoral programme allocating tasks to the various directorates across Limerick Council - Comhairle Luimnigh while we are waiting for this week’s feedback from Elected councillors. Thanks too to Brian Leddin TD who dropped by to discuss his own

When the Dart was first proposed in Dublin, people labeled it a “Rolls Royce” solution that the city would never need. It’s clear today that those people were wrong. I can’t think of a public transport project that we’ve had to withdraw because of a lack of demand.

A really good news story this morning. This is the lowest Ireland's CO2 emissions have been in 30 years despite a significantly bigger economy and larger population. We still have a long way to go and we need to see this level of decrease year on year. rte.ie/news/environme…

This article should be required reading for policy-makers, especially in the agriculture sector. The reasons why climate scientists were repeatedly ignored by certain Departments and bodies also should be investigated. irishtimes.com/environment/20…

It’s such an appealing soundbite: “we are against carbon, not cars”. But Taoiseach Simon Harris TD, EV sales have stalled, and we are adding as many new fossil fuelled cars to the roads as ever. They’re larger than ever too. radiokerry.ie/news/taoiseach…

Until meetings of Limerick Council - Comhairle Luimnigh are broadcast for public viewing we can rely on Seamus Ryan for an entertaining written record. Today's meeting was clearly a farce. Well done John Moran, Mayor of Limerick for your efforts to engage with councillors.
