How common is it to have canola seed rejected by CBH Group for insects? I’m especially interested in if adult ladybird beetles 🐞 have ever been the culprit? #AskX

This canola paddock surprised me yesterday, the masses of cabbage aphids from last fortnight are now affected by aphid fungal disease or have become parasitoid mummies. Many aphid parasitoid wasps in crop and sweeps. Will continue to monitor #anectodeonly #PestFactsWA GRDC West

DBM numbers have increased over 2 weeks at the Northam insecticide free paddock from 2 DBM to 26 DBM per 10 sweeps. Still below control threshold but will monitor. Chewing damage present on some buds. #PestFactsWA GRDC West The UWA Institute of Agriculture DPIRD Broadacre - WA Grains & Livestock

Patterson’s curse Crown boring weevil adult and larvae. I have seen quite a few around this year! Introduced in 1993 by DPIRDWA for biological weed control.

Very variable DBM sweep numbers across this paddock near York, from 2 to 45 DBM per 10 sweeps. Seems like higher numbers where there was earlier emergence. Lots of natural enemies around as well 🐞 The UWA Institute of Agriculture GRDC West DPIRD Broadacre - WA Grains & Livestock
